Spread over 417 sq km, the Arabuko Sokoke
National Park serves as an important natural habitat to some
of the most unique and endangered wildlife species found in
Kenya that includes birds, insects and animals. It is the
largest surviving coastal dry forest in East Africa.
Location
It is situated near the Malindi and the Watamu Reserves and
Park.
Wild life Attractions
Rare birds such as Arder's Duiker, Golden Rumped Elephant
Shrew can be sighted in this park. Also seen are the African
Pitta, Sokoke Pipit, Green Barbet, Nicator, Amani Sunbird,
and the Scaly Babbler.
Things to do
Bird watching is a must while visiting the Arabuko Sokoke
National Park. One can also go on guided walks and to the
visitors' center.
Accommodation The Arabuko Sokoke National Park does not provide
for accommodation in its vicinity but it is easily available
at the Malindi and the Watamu Reserves and Park.
